Artist in Residence (AiR)

DIG DEEPER IN COLLABORATION WITH A PROFESSIONAL MUSICIAN
A-i-R programs are flexible and custom tailored to fit the needs of each unique school program and their goals. Typically A-i-R programs run 1-5 days, and offer hands-on participation for all students in a more intimate, classroom setting. Some popular topics include: World Percussion; DRUM Stories; Music & Math; DRUM Tech; Full STEAM Ahead; DRUM Outside the Box. No two residencies are the same, and we love creating new programs, so just let us know how we can best serve your school community.

Suggested Uses: Project Based Learning within a classroom, school music classes, GT
Fee: $750 single full-day/ $450 single half-day; 3 or more days (consecutive): $500 full-day/ $300 half-day

Discovery Stations

PLAY WHILE YOU LEARN!
Hands-on, museum style stations connecting percussion and music to other topics. Appropriate for all ages. Topics include: Full STEAM Ahead; DRUM Sounds Sensory Stations; World Percussion Petting Zoo.

DRUM Live

KEEP IT REAL, KEEP IT LIVE!
Our professional Faculty Ensemble plays a wide variety of musical styles and instruments from around the globe, perfect for school, family, and special events.

Audience Size: Flexible
Program Length: 20-45 minutes
Suggested Uses: Festivals, special event programming
Fee: $750 1st performance/ additional performances $500 each when scheduled back-to-back.

DRUM Together

BUILD THE BEAT, BUILD THE TEAM
Participants work together to play a wide range of drums and other percussion instruments. In our most hands-on offering, students/participants combine social skills (listening, patience, sharing, and focus) with individual creativity and self-expression. Adaptable to any age, and especially beneficial to those who could use a little boost of self-esteem, or help navigating social situations. This program works well as an enrichment activity for gifted and talented students, those with special needs, team building, or just a fun after school offering.

Audience Size: Maximum 16 participants/ session
Program Length: Variable
Suggested Uses: Enrichment or after school activity for small groups of students (GT, Special Needs, etc.), staff team building, child & parent bonding
Fee: 2 back-to-back sessions (45 min each) $350; additional sessions scheduled back-to-back $100/ 45 min session

DRUM Stories

BRING READING & WRITING TO LIFE!
DRUM Stories Interactive Performances combine the creativity and imagination of reading and storytelling with music and percussion! The importance of reading and developing a love of reading early in life cannot be overstated. In the hands-on workshop and the interactive performance, students bring books to life while learning about authentic percussion instruments from around the globe. DRUM Stories can be offered in a number of settings and for a wide age range, igniting and fueling a passion for creativity and reading.

DRUM Stories Interactive Performances bring books to life with percussion instruments. Students will also learn more about the instruments and try them out during a post-reading behind-the-scenes encounter.

World Percussion Petting Zoo

EXOTIC SIGHTS & SOUNDS UP CLOSE
Explore a vast array of authentic percussion instruments from around the world. DPS staff leads students in a short presentation to introduce and demonstrate instruments, then students are invited to examine up close. Under teacher/adult supervision, students may handle and try instruments.

Audience Size: Maximum 30 students/ session
Program Length: Up to 45 minutes
Suggested Uses: Single classroom setting, summer camp group, scout troops
Fee: 1 Presentation $350; additional presentations scheduled back-to-back $150 each

Swag stations

MAKE-N-TAKE CRAFTS
Children of all ages can create their own unique musical instruments ands memorabilia. From ordinary, household items to the more techy and tool-built instruments, we’ve helped build thousands of instruments at festivals, fairs, and other special events. Crafts include: Shaker Station, Rocars.

Program Length: Up to 3 hrs
Suggested Uses: Festivals, fairs, birthday parties
Fee: Shaker Station $250/100; Rocars $375/100

Green Beats

RECYCLED MATERIAL = RENEWABLE FUN
Interactive, musical sculptures that kids and parents can all play on, and have a blast doing it! Current Instruments include: Tube Thing, Trashcan Taiko, and Boomwhacker Bar. GREEN Beats rental includes set up, instruction & demonstration, and tear down (allow 30 min – 1 hr before & after for set up/tear down).

Suggested Uses: Corporate family events, school & church festivals & fairs, birthday parties
Fee: 2 hrs rental $500; additional playtime $200/ hr or $1,000 day

DRUM Party

AIN’T NO PARTY LIKE A DRUM PARTY!
Celebrate the big day with DRUM! We provide all the instruments & instruction needed for a rockin‘ good time. Party at our place or we can bring the party to you. Contact us for more information on all of our party packages.

Music for Dancers

M4D (Music for Dancers: A Dancer’s Working Guide to Music), created by Jason Currin has been integrated into the year-round curriculum at South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts & Humanities, and many private dance studios and conferences throughout the region.
